The Perrysburg High School Boys Soccer Program would like to invite your team(s) (Varsity & JV) to participate in our Ninth Annual Pete Raffa Memorial Soccer Tournament to be held on Saturday and Sunday July 9th & 10th 2011. Proceeds from this tournament go to a scholarship in the name of Pete Raffa, former PHS Boys Soccer Coach (1993-2001).

 

Format  Teams will be guaranteed 5 games (40 minute each) hosted at Bowling Green State University.  This tournament is designed for you the coach, to evaluate and preview your team for the upcoming season.  This is done by you the coach selecting the teams you would like to compete against in the tournament.  There are no trophies, no losers, just winners and a great weekend of competitive soccer in preparation for the upcoming season.  The 50+ teams that participated last year provided great competition at all levels. 
Purpose  The tournament is for high school teams only and your players MUST be eligible to play for your high school team during this fall season of ’11 (9th – 12th grade).  The tournament will provide your school with great competition and preparation for the upcoming fall season. This is a great way to face “live” competition while using just 2 of your 10 coaching days allowed by OSHAA.

Past Participants  Gahanna Lincoln, Olentangy Orange, Stow, Solon, Sycamore, Anthony Wayne, Sylvania Northview, Northmont, Dublin Jerome, Worthington Kilbourne, Perrysburg, Ottawa Hills, Poland,  Olentangy, Sidney, Waynedale, Sylvania Southview, Maumee, Findlay, Eastwood, Fairborn, Celina, Genoa, Chillicothe, Bowling Green, Celina, Cory Rawson, Whitmer, Van Buren, Continental, Toledo Central Catholic, Upper Sandusky, Springfield, Ashland, and Bucyrus to name just a few.

Scheduling  I will be happy to accommodate your team when it comes to travel time, game times, and hotel reservations - just let me know. (i.e. need late scheduled games for travel time). A list of hotels participating in this year's tournament is available on this site. Just click the link above.
